3. Donate Old Clothes to Deals on Designers

Did you know that 100 billion garments are produced annually, with much ending up in landfills within years. In fact, the average American throws away 75lbs of textiles per year.

We’re excited to announce our ongoing partnership with Deals on Designers, a fashion reseller that strives to promote sustainability and conscious shopping by doing away with overconsumption one fabulous garment at a time, on an exclusive Remake closet to help us raise money and give back to our cause. Here’s how it works:

      •  Folks from Remake’s community located in the United States, including you, can donate their gently used items to give them a second life. Items to donate include clothing from all brands (Old Navy to Burberry), all sizes, shoes, accessories, costume jewelry. Undergarments, socks, tights and sleepwear will not be accepted unless its designer. Housewares are not accepted. As far as condition – all of the items should be in a wearable condition unless the items are meant to be sent for recycling to RewearAble.
      • Once your items are ready, let myself, Daisy, or Emily know (our emails are below!) as we can send you a prepaid USPS shipping label.
      • Once your items are received, Deals on Designers will shoot your products, upload them for sale, and sell them on their site under Shop to Support > Remake
      • Once an item is sold, Remake will pocket 70% of the gross income, or 100% of profits after expenses (ie. shipping).

Get your Remake Fashion Certificate

We’d love to extend an invitation for you to participate in the Remake Fashion Certificate, a digital education course offered via the Nomadic Academy – this is something we’ve shared with our Ambassadors as a professional tool.

The course is free and aside from deepening your understanding of the fashion industry’s issues, hearing from garment workers , etc. the course will teach you how to build skills and tools to foster transformation that leads to real change.

What to expect? You can earn 3 certificates of completion: Remake Fashion, Elevating Equity, and Design Thinking…which take a total of 15 hours to complete at your own pace.
