Remake July Community Call

With the hottest temperatures on record, the climate crisis is upon us. Garment production work is already hot and laborious. How do women workers fare as temperatures heat up?

Join Remake’s July Community Call on July 8th at 9:00 am PST / 12:00 pm EST / 7:30 pm IST to hear firsthand the impact of heat stress on the women who make our clothes and the urgent need for climate adaptation resources.

On this call, you will hear from:

  • Ayesha Ahmad, researcher, and trainer on the links between climate change and gender-based violence.

  • Becca Couglan, Remake’s senior accountability manager, on how current brand climate commitments are failing workers.

  • Ayesha Barenblat, Founder, Remake, on the launch of a direct relief fund for Pakistani garment workers battling heat stress.


Ayesha Ahmad: is a researcher and trainer on labour rights, gender-based violence, and climate justice. She has worked across labor rights organizations including Labour Education Foundation Pakistan, Fear Wear Foundation (FWF), South Asia Alliance for Poverty Eradication, and Asian People’s Movement for Debt and Development.

Becca Coughlan: is the Senior Advocacy Manager at Remake, where she leads Remake’s climate accountability and policy work, including powering the research behind the 2024 Fashion Accountability Report.

Ayesha Barenblat: is Remake’s founder and CEO, with two decades of experience advocating for labour rights and gender justice in apparel supply chains.
