For the holiday season, don’t buy a new outfit for your holiday parties, instead, Reclypt invited you to swap them! Clothing has turned into a disposable commodity, directly contributing to climate change, gender inequality, and social injustices. The average NYC household throws away about 120 pounds of textiles a year, amounting to approximately 13 Brooklyn bridges. Not to mention, 10 times as much textile waste is being thrown away before consumers see the products.
In an effort to make circular fashion accessible and support fair wages, there is a fee to enter the swap. The items you swap, however, are free. We believe with swapping, the more the merrier, which is why we provide a discount on two tickets. So bring a friend and save!
In an effort to provide a high quality swap, we encouraged you to bring 5 of your best pieces. For the first 30 minutes or so, you’ll bring clothes, mingle, and window shop the swap (check out which items are up for grabs and determine which you’d like to try on) while the Reclypt team sets up. Then, we’ll start swapping! First come, first served, so be punctual! Swap will conclude when everyone has swapped, at which time remaining items will be gathered for donation.
