Remake the Label: Made in China Infographic

This is the first in our Remake the Label infographic series highlighting the top issues in each country where our clothes are made.

Do you have a favorite dress or tee that’s “Made in China”? Here’s a peek behind the label at fast fashion from China…

  1. Excessive Hours. People often work 12 hours a day in factories and are penalized if they resist.
  2. No Real Unions. Makers can’t form unions, making it hard to demand better conditions.
  3. Pollution. Fashion has polluted China’s water and air and impacted makers’ health.

So what’s it like to be a maker in China? Watch this short video of Ming Hui, a young fabric maker in China.

Knowledge is power. Share this with your friends so they’ll know what’s behind their Made in China fast fashion too.
